Mr. O'Brien joined the Executive Team in 2007 and serves as an Executive Vice President and the Chief Banking Officer, overseeing the Bank's Commercial and Consumer Banking units. Mr. O'Brien is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing, product, and business development strategies which emphasize profitable and sustained organic revenue growth, client service and retention, effective pricing, and the collaborative, team-oriented delivery of the bank's products and services to clients through physical and digital channels. He has more than 25 years of experience in the regional banking space with an emphasis on client relations, lending and strategic planning.
A graduate of James Madison University, Mr. O'Brien holds a BBA in Finance. He serves in leadership, board, and philanthropic roles for numerous professional and community organizations, including INOVA Health System. Mr. O'Brien is the former Chairman of the George Mason University Board of Trustees, and a member of the President's Innovation Advisory Council; he also is a co-founding member of the University's National Leadership Council.
