Sandy Spring Bank’s Volunteerism Tops Washington Business Journal Ranking

Sandy Spring Bank is pleased to announce it ranked first in the Washington Business Journal’s list of midsize companies by volunteer hours. The bank also ranked eighth in giving.

In 2019, Sandy Spring Bank employees volunteered 10,000 hours in the Washington D.C. metro area, and the bank donated more than $326,000 to local organizations. 

As the region’s largest, locally headquartered community bank, Sandy Spring Bank has always valued the importance of giving back. To support healthcare workers at the beginning of the pandemic, the Sandy Spring Bank Foundation donated $600,000 to 12 community-based hospitals in the Greater Washington region.
