John Pelicano is the owner of several Goddard School® locations in Maryland. He is also a client of Sandy Spring Bank and recently he was good enough to tell us more about his relationship with us.
Please tell us about your business.
My name is John Pelicano and I own three Goddard School locations in Maryland. Goddard School is a leader in premium early childcare and education. Currently, there are more than 600 Goddard School franchise locations around the country, including our locations in Urbana (two) and Ijamsville, Maryland.
Why did you choose Sandy Spring Bank?
We used to bank with another bank, but when they were acquired we had no interest in going to one of the large, national banks. It was important to us that we stayed local, and so we made the switch to Sandy Spring Bank and honestly, we couldn’t be happier.
Did You Know?
- Goddard School serves more than 75,000 students in 37 states and Washington, D.C.
- PPP loans helped businesses like Goddard School keep their workforce employed during the COVID-19 crisis.
- Goddard School has been educating kids for more than thirty-five years.
Was there a time or instance when we were able to help your business?
Many, but what really stands out is the help we received during the pandemic. When the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans were rolled out, Sandy Spring Bank made it easy for us. There was always someone available to answer questions and they cared. They honestly cared about whether or not we would be successful. That's been the case with all of our interactions with the Bank, everything is smooth and easy.
Has anything surprised you?
Only the fact that there are no surprises. Everything with Sandy Spring Bank is exactly as you'd expect. Friendly tellers that call you by name, everyone is always smiling and willing to help - the Bank lives up to the hype.
Would you recommend us to colleagues and how would you describe us?
We would definitely recommend Sandy Spring Bank; we've never had a bad experience. I'd describe the Bank as a partner, a supporter, a friend.
